Gerald "Jerry" D. Fasbender, 90, of Superior, died Friday, August 24, 2018.

He was born December 30, 1927, in Minneapolis, MN, son of Gordon and Verna (Branson) Fasbender.

In Chicago, Illinois, on September 10, 1954, Gerald Dale Fasbender and Marilyn Joyce Eck, were united in marriage.

Jerry served his country with both the U.S. Navy and U. S. Army and was honorably discharged.

Following his retirement from military service, Jerry began his long career as a boilermaker and worked on numerous projects in Illinois and Wisconsin.

His memberships included the Superior Elks Club, V.F.W., Boilermakers local 107, and was a life member of the American Legion post 1 in Paris, France. He enjoyed time spent on the golf course with friends and was active in several local leagues.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marilyn in 2005; brothers, Jack and Gordon, Jr.; and sisters, Delores, Barbara and Beverly.

Survivors include his son, Craig (Joyce) Fasbender, Luck, WI; grandchildren, Christopher (Samantha Bailey) Fasbender, Cheyenne, WY, and Amber (Erik) Ogren, Balsam Lake, WI; great-grandchildren, Emma, Micah, Kayson and Joshua.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Thursday, September 6, 2018, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.  Reverend Mark Holmes will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Chris Fasbender, Don Cain, Scott Winans, Brent Winans, Jeremy Winans and Mark Fiala.

Burial with military honors will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frederic, WI.
