Obituary

Geraldine B. (Jensen) Hoyt, 89, of Superior, Wis., died Fri., April 9, 2010 at the Golden Living Center.

Geraldine was born in Omaha, Neb. Nov. 10, 1920, the daughter of Anna (Collins) and Christian Jensen and moved with her family to Gordon, Wis. as a small child.

She married George L. Hoyt in Sept. of 1938. They lived in Gordon and Iron River, Wis. and Bonners Ferry, Idaho, returning to the Gordon area in 1956. They remained there until her husband's death in 1968.

Geraldine then moved to Minneapolis, Minn. and had a successful career as a medical secretary at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, Minn.

She retired in 1986 and relocated to Superior. She spent her retirement years actively involved in RSVP, Crafty Ladies and other activities at the Senior Center. Her other hobbies included gardening and playing scrabble. She loved her pets and especially enjoyed playing ball with Doodle the last few years.

Geraldine is survived by her daughters, Anne (Sonny) Onstott of Post Falls, Idaho, Lillian Jimenez of Fort Worth, Tex., Georgia (Roger) Anderson of Center City, Minn. and Jane Cheever of Superior; grandchildren, Bob Cheever of Poplar, Wis., Jeff Cheever of Superior, Debra Onstott, Les Onstott, Dean (Mary) Onstott and Tina (Rick) Schwietzer all of the Post Falls, Idaho area, Valerie Hitchcock, George (Karla) Jimenez, Steven (Beth) Jimenez and Nicholas Jimenez all of the Fort Worth area, Mike (Natalie) Jimenez of Azle, Tex., William (Tiffany) Jimenez of Aledo, Tex., and Susan (Tom) Schmalz of Minneapolis; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, two sisters and a son-in-law, Fred Jimenez.

Her memorial service will be held on Tues., April 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave., with Pastor Robert Baranow officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Gordon Memorial Cemetery on Thurs., April 15th at 11:00 a.m.
