Obituary

Gladys M. Wallin, 94, of Superior, went to be home with the Lord on Sunday April 5, 2026, at Twin Ports Health in Superior.

Gladys was born in Tower City, ND on June 5, 1931, the daughter of August and Erna (Kaut) Pommerer. She graduated from McGregor High School with the class of 1949.

Gladys married Maynard Wallin on July 4, 1962, and they celebrated 42 years of marriage until his death in 2005.She was a longtime and very active member of Bethel Lutheran Church and past member of the DAV Women's Auxiliary. Gladys cherished time with her family, loved to have fun and laugh, embraced life with joy, and showed great generosity and compassion to those in need.   She became known at the nursing home for her 'spicy' personality.

After Gladys became a widow she and her best buddy Peg would travel across the country on road trips, cruised to Alaska and Mexico and even made it to Hawaii. She also enjoyed her many local adventures with her pal, Lorrie, and her annual trip with her sisters and niece whether it was traveling to different places or to the greenhouses, she was always happy to have that special time with them.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maynard; her beloved sister, June Johnson-Lembke; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Theresa Pommerer; sister-in-law, Marlene Doyle; and brothers-in-law, Howard Matson, Raymond Johnson and Charlie Lembke.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Lynda (Steve) Radzak; son, Bob (Stacey) Wallin; grandchildren, Andrea Radzak, Guss Johnson, and Emily Johnson; her great granddaughter, Jiselle; brother, Robert (Shirley) Pommerer; sister, Sandra Oldenburg; brothers-in-law Harold (Carole) Matson and Ron Matson; and her special kitty, Max

Visitation will be on Sunday, May 31st from 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m.  funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Rev. Darrell Kyle as officiant. Private family interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
