Gloria J. Neuman, 96, lifelong resident of Superior, died Wednesday April 1, 2026, at Middle River Health and Rehab.

Gloria was born in Superior on July 11, 1929, the daughter of Howard and Ebba (Nelson) Hammerbeck. She graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1946 and attended Superior Teacher's College and the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis.

Gloria married Frank Neuman on July 21, 1951, and they celebrated 63 years of marriage before his passing.

She was an active member of United Presbyterian Church where she served as a Deacon and was involved in their women's activities. She was a former member of Onaway Club, Jacettes, PEO Chapter E, and volunteered at Essentia Hospital in Superior. Gloria Especially enjoyed family time, birthdays, holidays, and warm summer days at the cabin in Solon Springs.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother, Ralph Hammerbeck.

Gloria is survived by her daughters, Debra Neuman and Nori (Bill) Ferris; granddaughter, Jessica (Mark Hunter) Ferris; great-grandchildren, Lily and Logan Ferris; sister-in-law, Merna Hammerbeck and her three children.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 14th from Noon until the 1:00p.m. funeral service at United Presbyterian Church, 229 N 28th St., Superior, with Rev. Brett Foote as officiant.

She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to United Presbyterian Church.
