Gordon "Gordy" Westlund, 86, of Superior, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday November 25, 2020, at Superior Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, Superior.

He was born February 16, 1934 in Ashland, WI, son of Olaf and Myrtle (Becker) Westlund.

Gordy graduated from Ashland High School and served in the National Guard.

On December 28, 1957, in Ashland, Gordon Westlund married Lleaellyn Green.

Gordy's early work history included Scott Taylor's in Ashland and Erlanson's in Superior, where he worked as a cabinet maker. He worked for several construction companies before moving to Lake Nebagamon to work as the head maintenance man at Camp Nebagamon for over 24 years.

Gordy was a member of Bayside Baptist Church, in Superior, where he served as an usher, building committee member, Sunday school and nursery departments.

His interests included woodworking, fishing, bowling – Men's All Parish League and Couples United Christian League, and watching all sports especially the Green Bay Packers. But his favorite was spending time with his beautiful wife and family.

Gordy was a man of great character and integrity, who loved his Lord and his family. He was the best husband and father in the world.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister, Betty Vennerstrom; and brother, Richard Westlund.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Lleaellyn; children, Debbie (Merril) Johnson, South Range, WI, Kevin Westlund, Apple Valley, MN, and Tami (Steve) Nicholas, Superior; grandchildren, Vanessa Johnson, Joshua (Harlee) Johnson, Nathan (Jessica) Johnson, and Emma (Ja'lon) Sventek; great-grandchildren, Maclean, Jazmine, Kolten, Mason, Maverick, and Mia; and many special relatives.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Tuesday December 1, 2020 at Bayside Baptist Church, Superior.  Pastor Tom Bush will officiate.

A private family committal service will be at Mount Hope Cemetery, Ashland, following the funeral service.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Superior Rehabilitation and Essentia Health Hospice for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided to Gordy.
