Gregory Keith Chicras, 62, of Chisago City, MN, died Thursday, July 27, 2017, unexpectedly in his home.

He was born in Superior, WI on May 16, 1955, the son of John and Barbara Chicras.

Greg was a Carman on the Soo Line Railroad for 23 years.

Greg loved cooking for his family and friends.  He was artistic, a creative gardener and enjoyed fishing. He volunteered at Ecumen Parmly senior living facility. Greg was always there to help others.

He is preceded in death by his father.

Greg is survived by his mother; siblings, Desiree (Rob) Lawson of Mosinee, WI, Steven (Louise) Chicras of Superior, Julie (Joe) Brow of Westminster, CO, and Nancy (Tom) Janicki of Superior; nieces and nephews, Pamela, Kevin, Kelsey, Robert, Daniel, Alannah, Benjamin, and Matthew; great-nephew, Kenty; close friends, Will, Scott and Marty; his loyal companion and dog, Jelly; and many other family and friends.

Greg's celebration of life will be on Sunday, August 13, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street, Superior, WI from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 2:30 p.m. officiated by Rev. Fr. James Tobolski.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.
