Gregory Joseph Roman, 74, of Oliver, WI and Mesa, AZ, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2023.
Greg was born in Duluth, MN on May 14, 1948, to Joe and Lillian (Westberg) Roman.
Greg graduated from Denfeld High School in 1966. He served in the US Army from 1966 to 1970, including a combat tour in Vietnam. Stationed later at Fort Monmouth, NJ, he met and married Fran Black. They were married for 53 years at the time of his passing.
Greg spent 30 years working in law enforcement in Michigan and Minnesota, retiring from the University of Minnesota Duluth Police Department in 1998. He also earned a master's degree in Industrial Safety from UMD during that time.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lil Roman; his brothers, Wayne, and Dale Roman; and his son, Joe Roman.
He is survived by his wife, Fran Roman of Oliver, WI; his daughter, Mandy (Tim) LeGarde of Duluth; six grandchildren and three great grandchildren; his sister Sue Brilla of Mason, WI; his brother, Tom Roman of Charlotte, NC; numerous nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Tootie LaBlanc.
A special thanks to George for his twice daily visits, the Kings, Lakeshore, the Fountains, and 5 th floor at Miller-Dwan for their compassionate and skilled care.

A memorial service will be held in the spring, with military honors accorded by the Duluth Combined Honor Guard.
