Obituary

Helen B. Heaslip, 80, of Superior, died Sunday, April 6, 2014, in Mission, Texas.

She was born October 15, 1933, in Edmore, North Dakota, daughter of William and Lenora (Melland) Curry.

Helen was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.

Some of her interests included traveling and reading; however, her greatest love was spending time with her family. Helen was affectionately called, "Grandma the Great", by her great-grandchildren.  She and her late husband, Paul, enjoyed attending their grandchildren and great-grandchildren's activities, taking great pride in their accomplishments.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Paul James Heaslip in 2010; daughters, Sue and Patty Heaslip; infant sons, Donald and David Heaslip; grandson, Douglas Scouton; and brother, Donald Curry.

Survivors include her sons, Paul Heaslip, Pierz, Minn., and Tom (Sue) Heaslip, Fairbault, Minn.; daughter, Mary (Stuart) Stariha, Superior;  8 grandchildren;  9 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (Roger) Reynolds, Proctor, Minn.; nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Ron Reissling, Mahtomedi, Minnesota.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 th Street, Superior, and will resume at 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, at St. Francis Xavier Church, 2316 E. 4 th Street, Superior.  Reverend Father James Tobolski will be the celebrant.

Following the Mass, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the parish hall.

Burial will be at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Carlton, Minnesota, at a later date.
