SUPERIOR
Helen F. McKay, 65, of Superior, Wis., died Sun., Dec. 20, 2009 in her home.
She was born Mar. 29, 1944 in Superior, daughter of Jeanette (Greene) and Frank Homick.
On Feb. 10, 1962 in Superior, Helen F. Homick and John R. McKay were united in marriage.
For over 27 years she worked as a school bus driver for the School District of Superior, with the last six years driving for special needs children. During the summer months she assisted the elderly with home health care.
Helen attended Jesus Life Ministry, Duluth, and Central Assembly of God, Superior, for many years.
She enjoyed baking apple pies and working with crafts; however, her greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and brothers, John and Ed Homick.
Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, John "Jack" McKay; children, Brenda (Steve) Lindom, Chisholm, Minn., John McKay, Superior, Debby Liebaert, Superior, Tracy (Joe) Kunert, South Range, Wis., Rodney (Brenda) McKay, Wausau, Wis., and Paul (Karin) McKay, Lewiston, Utah; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank Homick, Superior; sisters, Claudia (Don) Brew, Superior, Peggy Garcia, Superior, Paulette Welu, Superior, and Mary (Paul) Gerbaum, San Diego, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Wed., Dec. 23, 2009 at Central Assembly of God, 3000 Hammond Ave., Superior. Rev. Tom Miller will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Eric Dersia, Josh Dersia, Joey Kunert, James Stout, Aaron Nelson and Bill Warren.
Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, is assisting the family with arrangements.
