Obituary

Helen L. Ross, 94 of Superior, WI died on Sunday, June 2, 2024, at Open Arms Assisted Living in Duluth.

Helen was born September 22, 1929, in Aitkin, MN to Harry and Dagmar (Christianson) Eckholm.

She worked for her master's degree in education and was employed as a special education and kindergarten teacher working at Cooper School, Patzau School and Four Corners School over the years.  Helen liked to do the New York Times crossword puzzle while having a sip of scotch on occasions.  She welcomed everyone to visit her home and spent some time traveling.

Helen was a lifelong gardener and enjoyed living in the country on the family property at Lyman Lake.  She was known as "the Tomato Queen".  She will be remembered for her wry sense of humor and love of good puns.

Helen loved a good fish story.  If you came back from fishing and had caught (or even just hooked) a big one, she wanted to hear every little detail about what happened.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bud Ross and her sisters, Marion Waite and Barbara Simms.

Survivors include her children, Mike Daley, Patricia Daley, Tom (Merri) Daley and Mark Daley; her grandchildren, David Daley and Sam (Sophie) Daley.

A Private graveside service will be held.
