Hildegard "Hilda" A. Carlson, 66, of Superior, died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at her residence, following a lengthy illness.
She was born October 20, 1944 in Ashland, WI, daughter of Henry and Anna (Larson) Vietmeier.
Hilda graduated from South Shore High School in 1962 and UWS in 1967 with a Bachelors Degree.
Her work history included elementary teacher, Youth of Christ, Mary Kay consultant, P.V. Foods, homemaker, home school teacher, and piano and violin teacher.
Some of her memberships and interests were the Clef Society of Superior, music and caring for house plants.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Bruce; daughters, Wendy (Mark) Johnson, Superior, Colorado, Melody Carlson, Superior, Wisconsin, Tera Carlson, Brule, Wisconsin, and Amanda Carlson, Duluth, Minnesota; son, Paul (Yvonne) Kalin, Maple, Wisconsin; 8 grandchildren; brother, Waldemar "Wally" (Karen) Vietmeier, Herbster, Wisconsin; sister, Emeline (Jan) Larson, N. Fort Myers, Florida; and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 9 until the 10 a.m. service Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend David Sorenson officiating.
Pallbearers will be Peter Holte, Seth Holte, Leif Holte, Wally Vietmeier, Don Mihalak and Harry Meier.
Burial will be in Cloverland Covenant Cemetery, Cloverland Township, Wisconsin.
