Jacquelyn 'Jackie' Ann Peterson, 81 lifelong resident of Superior, passed away Monday, April 11, 2016 in Duluth, MN at the Solvay Hospice House surrounded by her daughters.

She was born July 25, 1934 at the Bayview Maternity Hospital in Superior to Wilfred and Florence Borreson.

On June 22, 1953 she married Curtis I. Peterson. They celebrated 53 years of marriage until his death in 2006.

She graduated from Cathedral High School with the class of 1952. Right after high school, she went into nursing training. She had worked as a nurses' assistant at St. Mary's Hospitals in Superior and Duluth and St. Luke's Hospital. She was a member of the Women's Veterans Auxiliary for many years.

Jackie enjoyed spending time with her late husband Curtis. She loved card games including Yahtzee and Royal Rummy with her children and grandchildren. She liked staying out at their cabins in Solon Springs and Hawthorne.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Curtis; son, Arnold Roy; and daughters, Kathryn Ann and Mary Ann.

Jackie is survived by her three daughters, Laurie (Bill) Huset of Superior, Carole (Mike) Jesberg of Superior, and Barbara (Tom) Zimmerman of Hudson, WI; grandchildren, Dan Zimmerman, Carin (Peter) Ness, Sarah (Aaron) Sorenson, Kristen Huset, Jessica Huset, Jonathan (Christine) Huset, Charles and Ben Jesberg and Carlee (Tyler) Miller; great-grandchildren, Teagan, Layke, Natalie, Nathan, Brielle, Eleanor, and Adalyn; sisters, Betty Gerding of Superior and Josephine Herrick of Superior; and many nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held on Sat. April 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Fr. Andrew P. Ricci will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorne.
