James "KaaKaa" Ambrose Fisher, Jr., 75 of Ashland, WI walked on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, with his family by his side at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth, MN.

He was born on January 19, 1948, in Flandreau, SD to Marcella Bellecourt and James Fisher, Sr.

James was a US Marine Corps veteran, serving in Vietnam. He was wounded during the war and returned home. James was a talented artist and drew many pictures for magazines over the years.

He was a true prankster and was continuously playing pranks and jokes on this family and friends.

James was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Beryl Lamoreaux; his sister in-law, Jane Lamoreaux; his nephew, William Lamoreaux and his brother in-law, Larry LaPointe, Sr.

He is survived by his siblings, Sharon LaPointe, Edmund Lamoreaux, Raymond Baxhill and Rebecca Sisk; nephews, Clarence Lamoreaux, Larry LaPointe, LeLand LaPointe, Robert Lamoreaux; nieces, Wendy (Lamoreaux)-Lucia, Shawna LaPointe, Angelyne LaPointe, Josephine LaPointe and Marcella LaPointe and numerous great nieces and nephews; special friends Etta Teschner and Danny Defoe.

A family graveside service will be held with burial in Bad River Cemetery.
