James ( Jaime / Jim ) Patrick Arneson, 52, of Superior, died Monday, January 25, 2016, at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 20, 1963, in Superior, son of Leonard and Patricia (Mitchell) Arneson.
On June 23rd, 1984, James was united in marriage to the love of his life and best friend Mindy Wiechert, in Superior, WI.
James was a graduate of W.I.T.I. and worked as an Ironworker. While living in California, he worked as a member of the Los Angeles Ironworkers Local #433, and in 1988 was awarded "Apprentice of the Year". When he returned to Wisconsin in 1995, he worked out of Local #563 in Duluth. Ironworking was his passion and something he loved immensely.
Some of his interests included fishing, woodworking, cooking, walking his dogs in South Superior and cheering for the Green Bay Packers. Many will remember him for his great sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Arneson; sisters, Cindy and Janice; and brother-in-law, Marvin Hickok.
Survivors include his wife, Mindy; sons, Ryan (Kayla) Arneson and Brady Arneson, Superior; mother, Patricia Arneson, Superior; sisters, Wendy Hickok, Superior, Mindy (Gary) Trebil, Duluth, and Julie (Jeff) Hill, Blaine, Minnesota; sister-in-law, Nikki (Pat) McGinnis, Eau Claire, Wisconsin; numerous special nieces and nephews; special relatives, Nikki and son, Christopher; as well as his fur baby, Ruby.
A special thank you to St. Luke's Home Care Services, Donna, Linda, Andrea, Sandy and Shana. We couldn't have asked for a better group of people. We love and appreciate all your care.
Visitation will be from 3 until the 4 p.m. service Friday, January 29, 2016, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.
Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
