James "Sam" H. Anderson's Obituary
James H. "Sam" Anderson, 84, of Superior, died Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth.
James was born in Chetek, WI. on Feb. 15, 1930 the son of Selder and Mary Anderson.
Sam had worked as a millwright at the ADM Grain Elevators for over 40 years. He enjoyed playing cribbage, going fishing and having an occasional beer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 63 years, Lois in 2011; a son, Jody Anderson; five brothers and two sisters.
Sam is survived by two sons, James "Guppy" (Janet) Anderson, Jr. and Rickie (Vicki) Anderson both of Superior; four grandchildren, Angel (Kevin) Homich of Superior, Brian (Kelli) Anderson of Superior, April (Chad) Benesch of South Range and Cody (Brad McCoy) Anderson of Trinity, N. Carolina; seven great-grandchildren, Ryan (Baylee), Eric, Kylie, Camren, Madalyn, Liam, and Stella; four sisters, Ramona Verdoljak, Avis (Carl) Winek, Patsy (Neil) Lagro all of Superior and Charleen Thompson of Hammond IN
A celebration of Sam's life will be held on Friday, July 18 from 4-7pm at the Superior Town Hall, 4917 Hwy 35.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th and Ogden, is assisting the family with arrangements.
