Obituary

James A. "Jim" McCusker, 78, died October 28, 2017, at his home.  He was born in Superior, Wisconsin, to John, Sr. and Emma McCusker.  He graduated from the former Superior Central High School in 1957.  He worked for The Superior Evening Telegram as a Linotype/Machinist for 17 years.  He left this trade to start a construction company doing business as McFord, Inc. with a dealership with House of Merrill Homes.  Many homes, commerical buildings and garages were constructed over the years.  In 1987 Jim began work at Superior Lidgerwood Mundy Corp. where he managed the Dutchess Baker's Machinery Manufacturing Division. He retired in 2001. When his boys were young he was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 224 in South Superior.  After retirement he graduated from a 2-year lay ministry school and served as a Licensed Lay Minister for Darrow Road Wesleyan Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Kevin and Mark; brothers, William, John Jr, and Robert; sisters, Marian (Morley) Cochrane, Dorothy (Gene) Garrity, Joan (James) Ramsey; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roland and Theresa Stordahl; and daughter-in-law, Janine McCusker.

He is survived by his wife, Sharron; sons, Brian (Vici) McCusker, Jeffrey (Tara) McCusker; granddaughters, Sara (Miles) Ursin, Amy (Beau) Thurman; grandsons, Eric and Taylor McCusker; sister-in-law, Elaine McCusker; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Neil Liljander, Wayne Gibson, Norm Groehler, Wayne Boustead, Bob Manor, Larry Westerman, Gary Pederson and Fred Doolittle.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 31, 2017, at Darrow Road Wesleyan Church, Superior. The visitation will resume at 10 until the 11 a.m. service Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at the church.
