James H. Miller, 94, of Superior, died Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Francis in the Park Health and Rehab.
James was born in Superior on Oct. 4, 1917 the son of Frank and Mina Miller.
He enlisted in the Army serving his country during WWII. James was deployed all over Europe and served in one of the armored divisions under General Patton.
James worked for many years as a switch tender for the Lake Superior Terminal & Transfer. He was a member of the American Legion and a Life Member of the VFW.
He was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers, Thomas, Albert, John, Bill and Robert.
James is survived by his brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Miller of Superior; a sister, Anna Mae Gabrielson of Superior and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Fri. Jan. 27, from 5-7 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Memorial Mass will be on Sat. Jan. 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Assumption Catholic Church. Inurnment will be in Greenwood Cemetery Veteran's Memorial Park with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
