James C. Sweeny, Jr.'s Obituary
James C. Sweeney, Jr., 80, died Tues., July 2, 2013 in the Golden Living Center, Superior, Wis.
He was born Aug. 17, 1932 in Superior to Ione (Helland) and James C. Sweeney, Sr.
He served his country with the U. S. Marine Corp.
For over forty years he was employed by the Burlington Northern Railroad retiring as a switch foreman.
Jim enjoyed his daily meeting with the coffee club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Joan Beebe; a son, Kevin J. of Madison, Wis.; three daughters, Pamela (Richard) Johnholtz of Oliver, Wis., Peggy Schowalter and Janette McDonald both of Superior; four grandchildren, Ashley Johnholtz, Alexis Schowalter and Spencer and Mason McDonald; and a sister, Katherine Jurkatis of Las Vegas, Nev.
Preceding him in death were four siblings.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Sat., July 6th in Cathedral Of Christ The King until the 11:00 a.m. Mass Of Christian Burial with Fr. Leon Flaherty as the Celebrant. Committal prayers will take place at Calvary Cemetery.
Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden & 19th St., is assisting the family with arrangements.
