James F. Tischler, 82, of Iron River, Wisconsin, died Friday, January 17, 2025, at Essentia Health-St. Mary's, Duluth.

He was born August 21, 1942, in St. Paul, Minnesota, son of Dolores E. (Fiss) and Wilfred W. Tischler.

On September 20, 1975, in Withrow, MN, James F. Tischler and Debra Jo Ellison were united in marriage.

Jim worked as a newspaper pressman for the St. Paul Dispatch.

Some of his interests included wood carving, boats, cars, water skiing, hockey, golf, and dogs.  Many will remember his sense of humor, how he loved to party and play pranks, and his numerous "Jim-isms."

Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Richard; and granddaughter, Zoe.

Survivors include his wife of over 49 years, Debra Jo, Iron River; son, Gregg (Shelly) Tischler, Superior; daughter, Lynne (Randall Prochowitz) Tischler, St. Paul; and grandchildren, Rejis Weinzirl and Wyatt Tischler.

A service will be held at a later date.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the food shelf of the donors' choice.
