W. Barschdorf

James "Jim" W. Barschdorf, 90, of Superior, died Monday October 18, 2021 in Lake Nebagamon, WI.
He was born August 31, 1931 in Vermont, son of Fred and Violet Barschdorf.
Jim served in the Air Force for two years during the time of the Korean War. After his service, he was called to Spring training with one of the professional baseball teams. He then went to UMD and graduated with a degree in physical education. He taught physical education in Vermont. Upon returning to Duluth, MN, he became a probation officer in the juvenile court until his retirement. Jim spent many years coaching baseball and basketball. When he stopped coaching, he joined the Harbormasters barbershop chorus of Duluth and started singing in the folk choir at Holy Assumption Church. He was an avid golfer, bowler and fisherman.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Arthur, Alfred "Babe", John "Jack", and Bill; and sisters, Jane Marino and Irene Joly.
Survivors include his wife, Karen; son, Stephen; daughter, Christine (Chad) Cracraft; granddaughters, Noelle, Charlotte and Autumn; sister, Ethel Pratt; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral mass, Saturday October 30, 2021 at Holy Assumption Catholic Church, Superior. Reverend Father Joji Boyapati will be the celebrant.
If friends desire, memorials may be made to Kurn Hattin Home for Children, P.O. Box 127, Westminster, Vermont 05158; Holy Assumption Catholic Church; St. Vincent DePaul; or a charity of the donor's choice.
