James "Jim" K. Warmington, 87, of Superior went to meet his lord and Savior on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Solvay Hospice House in Duluth.

He is survived by his significant other, best friend, and caregiver, Bonnie Lehner. He is also survived by his sons, Gary, Don, Mike (Tia), and Todd. He is also survived by his favorite daughter, Terri, of St. Louis, Missouri. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nick, Kerianne, Jake, Jordan, Mitchell, Taylor, Kasey, Lilly and Molly. He is survived by two great grandchildren, Maya and Alessandro. He was preceded in death by his parents, James E. Warmington and Angeline (Fedrizzi), one brother Jack Warmington, and one sister, Janice Helgemo. He was also preceded in death by one grandson, James.

He was born on October 22, 1936, in Stambaugh, MI. He graduated from Iron River, Michigan High School in 1954. He immediately entered the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1957. He attended Ferris State University and graduated with a B.S. degree in 1961.

Jim and his two sons Don and Gary started Superior Beverages L.L.C. in 1990 and immediately made it a competitive and profitable beer distributorship.

Jim loved and appreciated nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed spending time at the family cabin in rural Douglas County. He loved hunting, snowmobiling, and riding his ATV. He also enjoyed watching Green Bay Packer football, Notre Dame football, and Milwaukee Brewer baseball.

Jim fought a courageous battle with prostate cancer.

Visitation will be from 10 to the 11 A.M. Funeral Mass, Friday, May 31, 2024, at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior.  The Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant.  Military honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post 435 at the church.
