Obituary

Janet Marie Campbell at the age of 67 passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, at St. Luke's Hospital in Duluth, MN. Robert Campbell was by her side as he loved, comforted, and assured her it was okay to let go and be with her sisters.  She used her last breaths to say okay then took the flight to be reunited with her 1 st born son Scott Allan Carlson, her sisters and Jesus.

Janet was born on October 15, 1954, to Richard Benson and Inez Norberg at St. Luke's hospital in Duluth, MN. She graduated from Denfeld HS in Duluth, MN.

Janet enjoyed baking, arts and crafts and was very passionate about her family and her heritage.  She especially loved and reminisced about her time being a mother to her babies Julie Marie and Elizabeth Christine and being a grandmother to her two grandbabies Calista Kristine and Briella Elizabeth who she prayed for everyday until the day they were born.  Janet loved all her babies including her honorary grandbaby, Amelia.

Throughout the years Janet enjoyed traveling including trips with her first love, husband, and father of her children, Richard Carlson who was enlisted in the Air Force, they were stationed in Grand Forks North Dakota as well as Germany. After the Air Force they built a home and raised their two daughters in Esko, Minnesota.

Janet was also able to travel to see her older sister Virginia (Ted) Larson in Tokyo, Japan and numerous other fun family excursions together including visits with her younger sister Jeanie (Don) Taylor of Waasa Township MN.

Janet earned her COTA degree and was employed as a traveling certified occupational therapist for several years, until she retired. She lived and worked in multiple locations including Springfield Illinois, Cleburne Texas, Duluth Minnesota and Superior, Wisconsin.  Throughout this time, she also enjoyed Motorcycle rides with her husband Robert Campbell which included Sturgis Rally's in South Dakota, Stockyards in Fort Worth Texas and many other joy rides.

Janet was preceded in death by her father, Richard Willard Benson; her mother, Inez Theresia Norburg Benson Bruley; her sisters, Virginia Benson Larson, and Jeanie Benson Taylor; 1 st Born son Scott Allan Carlson.

Survivors include her daughters, Julie Marie (Derek) Brun and Elizabeth Christine (Justin) Williams; her grandchildren, Calista Kristine and Briella Elizabeth Williams; 1 st husband/father of her children, Richard Carlson and 2 nd husband Robert Campbell.
