Janet M. Colby, 70, of Poplar, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at Essentia-St. Mary's in Duluth.

Janet was born in Milwaukee on May 20, 1949 the daughter of Gerald and Louise Colby. She worked as a CNA in nursing homes.

She was an avid packer fan, enjoyed her trips to Laughlin, NV and bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy Little; and brother-in-law, Michael White.

Janet is survived by her children, Jerry, Gary and Ronnie; siblings, Doris (Emery) Jones of St. Croix Falls, WI, Gerry Karna of Wentworth, WI, Shirley (John) Woodhull of Poplar, Corrine White of Superior, Mary (Herman) Horst of Maple, Laura Colby of Barnes and Jerry (Linda) Colby of Poplar; special friend, Ted Jones of Poplar; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 18 ^th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th St., with Gary Banker officiating.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Essentia -St. Mary's and their Cancer Center for their wonderful care of Janet.
