Janet M. Crawford, 78, of Superior, died Saturday, March 23, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, surrounded by the presence and love of her family.
She was born March 24, 1934 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, daughter of James and Frances (Burke) Holmes.
On October 1, 1955 she married Donald E. Crawford in Edmonton.
Then in 1970, she and her family moved to Superior, with Don's transfer to the Lakehead Pipe Line Company, currently known as Enbridge Energy.
Janet was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King.
Her lifelong passion was the time spent with her family. She cherished her role as homemaker and enjoyed golfing, gardening and card playing.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald E. Crawford in 2007; brothers, James Holmes, William Holmes and Jack (Phyllis) Holmes; and sister, Shirley (Al) Walsh.
Survivors include her daughters, Dawn Pavlovich, Duluth, Kim (Wayne) Strak, Rogers, MN, and Lisa Crawford, Clearwater, FL; son, James "Jim" (Lorie) Crawford, Superior; grandchildren, Megan and Erin Pavlovich, Chelsea and Matthew Strak, and Brian, Scott and Jason Crawford; great-grandchildren, Izabella "Bella" Pavlovich and Luke Strak; sisters, Sheila Holmes and Melissa (Gene) Coutu, both of Edmonton; brothers, Brian Holmes and Russell (Lucille) Holmes, both of Edmonton; and several nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Cathedral of Christ the King, Superior. The Reverend Father Andrew P. Ricci, Rector of Cathedral of Christ the King, will be the celebrant.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Janet's family would like to extend a special thank you to the St. Luke's Hospital staff.
