Jean K. Carlson, 90, lifelong resident of Superior, died Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Superior Health & Rehab.

She was born on April 27, 1931, the daughter of William and Mary (O'Brien) Johnson.

Jean was proud to be a school bus driver for many years for the Superior School District. She enjoyed the outdoors and being in nature, especially on Murray Lake near Barnes, and flying airplanes. She was an avid reader and the family historian. Jean was the center of her family and spending time with them was especially important.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; son, Dale; and brother, Mike Johnson.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Cheryl (Richard) Balcer of Superior; grandchildren, Charleen (Troy) Rowekamp, Shelly (Stephen) Brown, Chad Balcer, David (Paula) Carlson, Joel (Jenny) Carlson, and Jonathan Carlson of Hayward; five great grandchildren; sister, Eileen Crabtree of Sebring, FL; and daughter-in-law, Karen Carlson of Hayward.

Following Jean's wishes, a private family graveside service will be held.
