Jean C. McConnell, 61, of Superior, died Monday, January 13, 2020 at her residence.

Jean was born in Madison, WI on Feb. 02, 1958 the daughter of Joan McConnell and James White.

She graduated from Minneapolis South High School. She was a member of the Lac Courte Oreilles Band of Lake Superior Chippewa. Jean worked as a manager at the Domestic Abuse Project in Minneapolis and was a strong advocate for domestic abuse families.

Jean enjoyed playing cribbage and gambling. Most important to her were her children and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert; maternal grandparents, Roy and Jean McConnell; and an uncle, John McConnell.

Jean is survived by her son Jermaine McConnell of Superior; grandchildren, Jasmine, Adrianna, Erikka, Jermaine, Robert, Isis, Amira, Jayden, and Jaeda; a brother, Shawn (Regina Runquist) McConnell of Superior; uncle, Roy McConnell of Zimmerman, MN; and aunts, Lorrie Madden of Superior and Mary McConnell of New Richmond, WI.

A Celebration of Jean's Life will be held on Friday, January 17, from 3:00- 6:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N 19 ^th Street.
