Jeanne B. Finckler, 83, currently of Hermantown, Minn., formerly of Superior, Wis. and Lake Nebagamon, Wis., died Thursday, November 4, 2010 in Edgewood Vista in Hermantown.
Jeanne was born August 13, 1927 in Holyoke Minn. to Vada R. (Perkins) and Washington "Jack" Paxton. The family moved to Dewey, Wis. when Jeanne was one year old and she lived there until 1947 when she moved to Superior. Then in 1984 she spent summers in Lake Nebagamon and winters in Mesa Ariz.
She was employed by Catholic Charities Bureau as a secretary.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Terri Finckler of Lake Nebagamon; two grandsons, Phillip (Joan) Finckler and Jasen (Brandie) Finckler; five great-grandchild, Cody Finckler, Samantha Finckler, Jaiden Finckler, Gavyn Finckler and Kylie Finckler, sisters, Dorma Joyce (Joe) Julian and Gwen (Don) LaJoie; a half-brother, Cody F. McKnight; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Finckler on Oct. 5, 2004; a son, Mark Lee Finckler on Sept. 24, 1967; a brother, Ernest Paxton; and a half-sister, Irma Tobin.
A graveside service will be held on Friday Nov 12, 2010 at 1 p.m. in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Sarah Kerkes officiating.
