Jenny Lee Steele, known to many as Jenny Lee Blues, passed away peacefully on April 18, 2026, after a short but intense battle with cancer.

Jenny was born on March 9, 1959, in Panama City, Florida, to Donald Lee Steele and Charlotte Mae Stocke.  She lived most of her life in the Hermantown, Minnesota area, graduating from Hermantown High School in 1977.  After marrying her high school sweetheart, Bruce Hanson, in 1978, their daughter Jessica was born in 1980.  The family moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where Jenny managed her parents' Dairy Queen for ten years before moving back to Minnesota.  She worked as a receptionist at the Duluth Family Practice Center for over 20 years and married her 2nd husband, Patrick Forrestal, in 1999. After retiring on disability, Jenny held several part time jobs through the rest of her life, befriending coworkers wherever she was.

Vibrant and feisty, Jenny loved helping others and making people smile.  She was the type of person that would give to others even if she didn't have anything to give because she genuinely wanted to see other people happy.  Jenny has been very involved in the local music scene for many years, attending countless concerts and events and encouraging everyone she knew to go to them, too.  She counted many musicians as friends and was able to easily hype up a crowd with her dancing and joy.  One of her favorite summer activities was tending to the garden her son-in-law built for her.  At the end of each season, she loved to test out different salsa recipes using her homegrown vegetables and share them with others.

Nothing was more important to Jenny than her family, especially her three grandsons, Bill, Nolan, and Ethan.  She fostered close relationships with each of them and supported them at all their activities and school events.  She shared her love of music with them, encouraging them to attend concerts and letting them play their favorite songs in the car with her.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m.  on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at the Solway Town Hall, 4029 Munger Shaw Road, Cloquet.  Jenny's family requests that attendees wear blue in her honor.
