Jerilyn “Penny” J. McGrath, age 80, of Superior died peacefully on September 19, 2026, at Dove Health Care in Superior.

Penny was born in Minnesota on August 26, 1946, to Arloine (Mattin) Miller and Jewel Nichols. Penny was a lifelong Superior resident, and she graduated from Superior Central High School with the class of 1964.

Penny married Patrick McGrath on August 13, 1966, and they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. She was a longtime member of Holy Assumption Parish in Superior. She enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers and The Young and The Restless.

Penny is preceded in death by her mother, Arloine Miller; father, Jewel Nichols; stepfather, Leroy Miller; mother and father-in-law, Bernice and Paul McGrath; stepbrothers, Bill Miller and Tony Miller; sister-in-law, Maureen Golden; her uncle, Floyd Mattin; and son-in-law, Daniel Undeen.

Penny is survived by her husband, Patrick; one son, Michael (Amy) McGrath of Two Harbors; three daughters, Lori Udeen of Foxboro, Erin (Ryan) Hendry of Superior, and Kelli (Troy) Adams of South Range; nine grandchildren, Alex, Brianna (Nick), Thomas, Timmy, Riley, Kash, Karl, Kory, Kyle, and Karly; two great-granddaughters, Layla and Aria; one great grandson, Hudson; her brother, Dean (Mo) Miller of Superior; half-sister, Julie Nichols Legg of Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Mary Miller of Indianapolis and Joy Miller of Duluth; and by many cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and her special cats, Pinky and Winky, that deeply miss her.

A Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at Holy Assumption Parish, 5601 Tower Ave, Superior, with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant.

Interment will be held at Calvary cemetery at a later date.
