SUPERIOR

Jerome E. "Jerry" Hicks, 79, of Superior, died Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Villa-Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center, Superior.

He was born March 4, 1930 in Superior, son of Alice M. (Wolden) and Hobert J. Hicks.

On March 22, 1952, Jerome E. Hicks and Norma L. Hermanson were united in marriage at Concordia Lutheran Church, Superior. Norma pre-deceased Jerry in 1977 after 25 years of marriage. On October 20, 1979, Carol Severin Hudson married Jerry at Concordia Lutheran Church, Superior.

Jerry was a retired electrician for Benson Electric and Belknap Electric.

Some of his memberships and former memberships included Concordia Lutheran Church, Superior Moose Lodge and the Civil Air Patrol.

He enjoyed building an airplane, electronics and time spent with Amateur Radio Operators.

Preceding him in death were his parents; first wife, Norma; and brothers, Hobert, Donald and Wayne Hicks.

Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Carol; sons, David (Veronica) Hicks, Minneapolis, Daniel Hicks (Cheryl Rooney), Minneapolis; daughter, Janelle Hicks, Superior; step-son, Steven Hudson, Superior; grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica, Chad and Ryan Hicks, and Madeline Malone; step-grandchildren, Stephany Hudson and Colleen Zambori; great-grandchildren, Ava, Jillian and Jordan Hicks; brother, Dennis (Renee) Hicks, Blaine, Minnesota; and his dog, Buddy.

The visitation will be from noon until the 1 p.m. service, Thursday, October 15, 2009 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior, with Reverend Charles Plaster, pastor of Concordia Lutheran Church officiating.

Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Superior.
