Jerry G.
Jackson
January 14, 1944 – June 26, 2025
Jerry G. Jackson, 81, of Superior, died Thursday, June 26, 2025, at Aspen Health and Rehab.
Jerry was born in Sheboygan, WI on January 14, 1944, the son of Albert and Jewel (Sather) Jackson. He graduated from Prairie Farm High School.
In his earlier years, Jerry was a truck driver for Indianhead Trucking and used to say that was his favorite job. He worked for many years at the Cutler-Magner Salt Plant as a millwright and Plant Maintenance Superintendent. After retirement he returned to truck driving for Simko.
Jerry and Rae owned and operated Birchgrove Campground in Iron River for 15 years where they formed many long-lasting friendships. The fun times and memories at Birchgrove will never be forgotten and stories will be shared for years.
Jerry was "Mr. fix it." He could fix anything. He enjoyed having family and friends at the cabin and sitting on the deck overlooking the lake or at an evening campfire. He loved to grill and smoke foods in his smoker. He was a great gardener and had a jungle of tomato plants every year. He enjoyed golfing with friends in his weekly league and was a bowler in a couple of different leagues. He loved dirt track racing, NASCAR racing, hunting, fishing and Wisconsin Sports.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert; mother and stepfather, Jewell and Harry Middendorp; brothers, Albert and Ronald Jackson; and brother-in-law, Randy Tabor.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 51 years, Cecelia 'Rae'; children, Jim (Molly) Jackson and Jena Jackson; stepchildren, Brenda (Al) Uotinen, Tim (Leah) Maki, and Joe (Cheryl) Maki; 12 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; brothers, Allen (Marguerite) Middendorp and Larry (Donna) Middendorp; sisters, Jane Tabor and Jeanette (Fred) Burke; sisters-in-law, Peggy Jackson and Sylvia Jackson; and many nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday July 11th from 11:00 a.m. until the Noon funeral service at Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St. with Pastor Katie Wagner as officiant.
