Joan Marvel Cockerham, 83, of Superior, Wis., formerly a longtime resident of Danbury, Wis. died Sat., July 19, 2014 in her residence.

She was born August 14, 1930 in Frederic, Wis. to Fred and Myrtle (Anderson) Burgess.

Joan loved to go fishing, and was a very Independent person who lived a full and happy life in Danbury.

Joan is survived by her children, Gary (Melanie) Cockerham and Marvel (Roger) LaPorte both of Superior; her grandchildren, Tyler, Nathan, Brian, Shannon, Josiah, and Mariah; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sally (Mark) Eliason of Pine City, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Miles; and a sister, Phyllis Soliday.

The funeral will be held on Friday, July 25th at 11:00 in the Danbury United Methodist Church in Danbury with Rev. Tom Cook officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in the Danbury Cemetery.
