Joan Leslie Peters, 59, of Superior, died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2016 at her residence.

Joan was born on May 17, 1957 to Floyd Sr. & Marianne Peters. She graduated from Superior High School with the class of 1975.

She was involved in the community especially with Clean-up Superior where she spent many hours beautifying the parks and beaches. She enjoyed scrapbooking and reading. Most important to her was spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Floyd Sr. and a brother-in-law, Walt Santilli.

Joan is survived by her children, Randey (Carolyn) Rich, Jr. of Superior and Heather (John) Seidel of Two Harbors; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Adam, Miriya and Briley; her mother, Marianne Peters of Superior; sisters, Vivian (Ron) Markley of Superior, Diana Santilli of Southern Pines, NC, Gloria (Stew) Raygor of Superior, and Karen (Rick) Miller of Hermantown; brother, Pete (Cheri) Peters of Poplar; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, August 27th, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of remembrance at 2:00 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Burial will be at a later date at Greenwood Cemetery.
