Obituary

John "Jack" E. Thompson, 72, of Foxboro, died Monday, July 30, 2018, at his residence.

He was born November 28, 1945 in Superior, son of Clement and Viola (Wester) Thompson.

On May 7th, 1966, in Foxboro, WI, John E. Thompson and Linda L. Corbin, were united in marriage.

Jack was a union carpenter and worked out of Local #361, for many years. He was known as a "Jack of all trades."

Some of "Lumber Jack's" interests included camping, going to steam shows, being outdoors, giving his grandkids rides on his tractor and 4-wheeler, giving hay rides and feeding the deer.  He had a problem buying "stuff" and then storing it. Yes, he was a pack rat. He would go out of his way to help anyone and could strike up a long conversation with anyone who crossed his path.

He was a very loyal friend and his love for his family was most evident.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and brothers, Robert and Eugene.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Linda; daughters, Carmen (Dan) Britton, Foxboro, WI, Tami (Mark) Nelson, Pine City, MN, Dana Thompson, Superior, and Lacey Thompson, Foxboro, WI; grandchildren, Jordan and McKenzie Britton, Marki, Taylor and Makenna Nelson, and Hannah and Gabriel Remington; brother, Richard (Sally) Thompson, Foxboro, WI; sisters, Cathy (Richard) Holm, Maple Grove, MN, and Mary (Robert) Kuntz, Burnsville, MN; several nieces and nephews; and his special canine friend, "Kiesha."

Honorary pallbearers will be Trigger Carlson, Tom Meierotto, Terry Martin, Mike Gomulak, Mark Nelson, Dan and Jordan Britton, and Gabriel Remington.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, August 6, 2018, at St. William's Catholic Church, 3095 E. Cty. Tk. B, Foxboro.  Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will be the celebrant.
