Obituary

John Wesley Graves, 88, of Superior, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by loved ones while under hospice care.

He was born July 28, 1930, in Glen Rock, Wyoming, son of Charles and Stella (Zemba) Graves.

John was married to Claudia "Tootsie" Jacobson for 48 years, until her death in 2002.

For 43 years John worked for the Soo Line Railroad, and in 1992 he retired as an engineer.

His memberships included Bethel Lutheran Church, Masonic Lodge and AAD Shrine. He enjoyed serving on the Shrine Burro Patrol and helping raise money for the Shriners Crippled Children's Hospital.

Some of his interests were golfing, hunting, bowling, fishing, gardening, wine making and dogs.

Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Claudia "Tootsie" Graves; sons, David, Glenn and Bob; and brothers, Dale and Don.

Survivors are his sons, Knute (Robin) Graves, Dann (Alaina) Graves and Bill (Sara Hissa) Graves; grandchildren, Jeff Graves, Cody Graves, Sami Graves, Ryan Graves, Sydney Graves, Ty Graves and Ella Graves; 4 great-grandchildren; and his very best friend, Renee LaPoint.

Visitation will be from 10 until the noon service, Tuesday, August 7, 2018, at Bethel Lutheran Church, 5821 John Avenue, Superior.

Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

The burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior.
