John P. Higgins, 54, life-long area resident, died Friday, January 24, 2020 at his residence in Oulu, WI.

He was born in Superior, son of Edward and Marylin (Prigge) Higgins.

He graduated from Superior Senior High School in 1983.

John proudly served in the U.S. Army National Guard for 6 years, for which he had many fond memories that he spoke of often.

He held various jobs in the Twin Ports area, including equipment operator at  Wisconsin DNR-Brule and custodian at Northwestern grade school.

He enjoyed quiet nights at home watching TV and playing Yahtzee with his wife of 8 years, Janie.

Preceding him in death were his parents.

Survivors include his loving wife, and each other's best friend, Janie Higgins; sisters, Joan Godfrey, Jean Higgins, Jaclyn Higgins (Dennis)-Cordts, Jennifer (Dan) Sloan; brother, Edward Higgins, Jr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna and Bill Guldner; brother-in-law, Carl (Leah) Guldner; step-children, Amy Thomas, Michael and Matt Kauther; many nieces, nephews and cousins; life-long friend, Tim Hanson; and his special four legged pal, Lebo.
