John Paul Lisak, 95, of Superior, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Superior Rehab and Nursing Center in Superior.

He was born in Superior on May 27, 1921, the son of Joseph and Frances Lisak.

John married Lillian (Nelson) Roy on September 11, 1971, and they celebrated 45 years together.

John worked Inter Lakes Shipping and retired from the Soo Line Railroad as a switchman.  He enjoyed gardening and going to Desert Hot Springs, CA, for the winter months with Lillian.

He was a member of Cathedral of Christ the King Church and St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish in Desert Hots Springs.  John had a close relationship with the Lord.

Preceding him in death are his parents; brothers, Joseph, Steven, and Andrew Lisak; and sisters, Mary White, Frances Guimond, and Margaret Paulick.

John in survived by his wife of 45 years, Lillian; daughter, Judith Hack, Superior; grandchildren, Christian (Sue) Hack, Waco, TX, Jamie (Dan) Jankowski, London, England, and Lindsay (Matt) Netland, Superior; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Annie Hill, Superior; and several nieces and nephews.

His visitation will be on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from 10:00 until the 11:00 a.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19 ^th and Ogden.  Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating.

Burial will be in August at Greenwood Cemetery, Superior, with military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
