John Thomas Oaing's Obituary
John Thomas Oaing, 59, of Superior, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at his residence.
John was born in Grand Rapids, Minn. on June 27, 1950 the son of Margaret "Marge" (Lindeborg) McGinnis and Helge Oaing.
He served his country in the Marine Corps and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
John loved fishing and hunting. He was also an avid pool player.
He was preceded in death by his father; and maternal grandparents, Oscar and Mae Lindeborg.
John is survived by his mother, Margaret "Marge"; son Shawn (Amanda) Oaing of South Range; grandsons, Ryan and Ryker Oaing; a brother, Randy Oaing of Superior; and Aunts, Ruth (Charlie) Howe of Deer River, Minn., Laura Mae Lindeborg of Little Canada and Alice Feaster of Grand Rapids.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 1:00 p.m. at Phoenix Villa's Main Dining Room, 1001 Clough Ave, in Superior. Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. is assisting the family with arrangements.
