John Edward Olson, Jr., 98, of Superior, died Thur. April 22, 2010 at Villa Marina Health and Rehabilitation Center.

John was born in Superior on July 23, 1911 the son of Clara (Anderson) and John Olson, Sr.

He was a graduate of Superior Central High school and spent his life painting many houses and buildings in town.

John was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Gladys on July 27, 1996; and his sister and brothers, Lillian, Art, and Clarence Olson.

John is survived by his two daughters, Sandy (Roger) Breitzmann of Superior and Marleen (Harold) Carlson of Superior; grandchildren, Shelley (Bill Ritchie) Breitzmann, Jeff (Roxi) Breitzmann, Heidi (Bill) Gemuenden and Jim (Kristin) Carlson; great-grandchildren, Jaysen, Ethan, Hope, Chloe, and Joe; and many nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be on Mon. April 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Rev. Dr. Mark Hillmer will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be, Jeff Breitzmann, Bill Ritchie, Jim Carlson and Bill Gemuenden.

If desired, memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
