John "Jack" R. McKay, 72, of Superior, died Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital, Duluth.
He was born April 16, 1942 in Superior, son of Hugh and Violet (Weichmann) McKay.
Jack's work history included a union boilermaker, McKay's Blacktop, McKay's Mobil, and the city of Superior.
He enjoyed ice fishing, hunting, camping, woodworking, auto mechanic and was a jack-of-all-trades.
Preceding him in death were his parents; wife, Helen F. in 2009; sisters, Marie and Margaret; and brothers, Tom and Jim.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Brenda (Steve) Lindom, Chisholm, Minnesota, Debby Liebaert, Superior, and Tracy (Joe) Kunert, South Range; 3 sons, John McKay, Superior, Rodney (Brenda) McKay, Wausau, Wisconsin, and Paul (Karin) McKay, Lewiston, Utah; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; sisters, Sis (Phil) Stariha, and Kitty (Gary) Krisak, both of Superior; brothers, Hugh (Sue) McKay and Bill (Darlene) McKay, both of Superior; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service Monday, April 6, 2015, at Central Assembly of God, 3000 Hammond Avenue, Superior. Reverend Tom Miller will officiate.
Committal prayers will be at Calvary Cemetery, Superior.
A verse that was very meaningful for Jack was, "God is a gracious giver".
