John "Jack"
T. Brickson
August 8, 1943 – August 19, 2025
John "Jack" T. Brickson, 82, of Iron River, WI, and Florida's Space Coast, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, after a brief battle with leukemia.
Born on August 8, 1943, in Duluth, MN, to Bernice Tweed and John Brickson, Jack's life was defined by family, generosity, and a quiet strength that touched everyone around him.
He had an extraordinary gift for creating spaces where his family could gather, laugh, and make lifelong memories. Summers at his beloved cabin on the Pike Lake Chain in Iron River, Wisconsin, were filled with laughter, shared meals, and moments that became some of the happiest memories of his family's lives. Winters on Florida's Space Coast offered warmth and sunshine, giving his family a welcoming place to escape the winter cold and enjoy time together in comfort and joy. These were not just places he loved—they were places he carefully maintained so that his family could create memories that would last a lifetime.
Jack was a remarkable conversationalist and a deeply respected friend. His wisdom, perspective, and insight made him someone everyone trusted and admired. He enjoyed tackling projects, catching up with friends, golf, skiing, tennis and sitting down with a good book—pursuits that reflected both his curiosity and his love of life.
Beyond his devotion to family, Jack dedicated nearly 40 years to the Boys & Girls Clubs in Duluth, earning the Lifelong Commitment to Youth Award. He also served as president and trustee of the Overman Family Scholarship Fund, bringing the same thoughtful dedication to his community that he brought to his family.
He is survived by his children, Todd (Monika) Brickson, Dean (Lonni) Brickson, Kyle (Harper) Brickson, and Kevin (Sada) Brickson; his grandchildren, Dagny, Kaia, Tiegen (Keenan), Mikala (Ryan), Hannah (Luke), Parker, Alex, Evan, Nolan, Karsen, Emerson, Easton, Eagan, Jaiden, and Cassie; eight great-grandchildren; nephews, Mike (Tracy) O'Connor, and Paul (Niki) O'Connor.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at his family cabin in Iron River, followed by an inurnment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Duluth, MN.
Arrangements by Downs Life Celebration Center, 1902 N 34th St., Superior, WI.
