On November 20th, 2023, Joseph Andrew Rosman, 80, of Superior, Wisconsin passed away peacefully at Essentia Health in Duluth, Minnesota.

Joseph, "Joe", is survived by his wife Judith, "Judye", of 55 years; three children, Christine Davis (Ray), Michelle Ketola (Mike), and Joseph Rosman (Staci); sister, Barbara DeLonjay (Mike); grandchildren, AJ Rosman (Brittany Wold), Heather VanGuilder (Maxwell Kuschel), Chancellor Davis, Kyla Rosman, Lily Davis, and Christopher Davis; great-grandchild, Bennett and his mother, Emily Harris.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Francis Rosman; brothers, John and Francis Rosman; mother-in-law, Lorraine Santelli / Hovila; fathers-in-law, Anthony Santelli and Marvin Hovila.

Joe enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1962 and served until 1966. He retired from Minorca Mine after a long career as an electrician. Joe proudly served for many years as the union president of USW Local 6115, and belonged to the American Legion #220, Men's Northern Club, Superior Moose #606, and the Superior Eagles #80.

Joe's strong work ethic and willingness to step in to help at any time were admired by many, and he led his life by setting those examples. His devotion to his family never wavered. Joe enjoyed cheering on his grandchildren, hunting on the back 40, going on fishing trips in Canada, and traveling to Hawaii, Laughlin, Florida, Nashville, and Texas. He will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

Visitation will be from 10 until the 11 a.m. service, Friday, December 1, 2023, at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19th Street, Superior.  Reverend Father Andrew Ricci will officiate.

The burial, with military honors, will be at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery – Duluth.
