Obituary

Joseph Robert Baillargeon of Gordon, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026 at the age of 80. He was born on September 1, 1945 in Milwaukee to Joseph D. and Eleanora (nee Schreiber) Baillargeon.

On April 30, 1966 he married the love of his life Phyllis (nee Schmidt) in Milwaukee and enjoyed 60 years together. They were blessed with two children Thomas (Elizabeth) and Jeri (Kevin) Gerndt, five grandchildren, Karen (Trent), Kelley (Greg) Lemon, Melissa, Ryan (Ashley) and Nicole. In addition to three great-grandchildren, Matt, Josh and Auston; Joe is also survived by his sisters Elaine (Donald) Hall, Joyce (Roger) Voelker, Mary (Dale) Hafer and Sandra (Bill) Giesfeldt.

Joe is preceded in death by his parents Joseph D and Eleanora (nee Schreiber) Baillargeon and sisters Jo Ann (nee Kahut), Yvonne (nee Klump), Diane (nee Giesfeldt) and Carol.

Joe worked as a machinist for Teledyne Wisconsin Motors and Dresser Waukesha Engines. An avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing throughout his life. His love for Wisconsin's Northwoods led him and Phyllis to retire to Gordon in 2008, where they embraced the beauty and tranquility of the area. Joe was also a devoted fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, and Milwaukee Bucks.

A celebration of Joe's life will be held at a later date.

The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to the caregivers and staff of Ecumen Northshore Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion, and dignity they showed Joe during his final days.
