Joseph E. Hudacek, 92 of Superior, died Sunday, Feb 21, 2016 at Superior Rehab and Nursing Center.
Joseph was born on April 23, 1923 the son of Serafina (Karaba) and Paul Hudacek. He married Shirley Mae Perkins on September 14, 1946.
He served his country during WWII in the European Theatre, enlisting in the Army.
Joseph had worked for US Steel and as a carpenter at UW- Superior. He enjoyed fishing, berry picking, gardening and taking long walks. He was an all-around handyman especially when it came to carpentry. He was always there to lend a hand and loved being with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Shirley on April 30, 2015; sisters, Theresa and Mary; and a brother, Tom.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Irene), Jim (Ellyn), Richard (Nancy) and Timothy (Ginger); eight grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Saari, Krysta (Scott) Vergin, Jeffry (Emilie) Hudacek, Stevie Hudacek, Joy (Clint) St. John, Jill Hudacek, Andrew (Veronica) Hudacek, and Kevin (Crystal) Hudacek; and 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis (John) Turk, Sally Ward, Bernadine (Richard) Sampson, and Betty (Phil) Meysman; brothers, Paul (Betty), John (Dorothy), Ed (Carol), David (Lynn) and Bill; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Mon. Feb 29th from 10:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Church with Rev. Fr. James Tobolski as Celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Military Honors will be accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
If desired, memorials in Joseph's name may be made to St. Francis Xavier Church.
