Joseph Sylvester Jones, Jr., 88 of Superior, WI died on Monday, April 11, 2022, in his home.

He was born on January 23, 1934, to Joseph and Blanch (Horner) Jones, Sr. in North Field, MN.

Joseph enlisted with the US Navy and was stationed in Hawaii. He was a member of the American Legion and VFW #10252 in Anchorage, AK.  Joseph had a passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing with friends and family.  He truly enjoyed fishing with his sons and family over the years.

Joseph was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary (Johnson) Jones; his brothers, Lenard, Arthur, Merrill "Tiny" and David; his sister, Helen Hill and his granddaughter, Kimberly Burbul.

Survivors include his children, Frank Jones, Marion (Timothy) Burbul, Susan (Ray) Muetz, and Joseph (Darlene) Jones; his sister, Ada (Louis) Jones; his brother, William Jones; fourteen grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 21, 2022, at Parkview Cemetery in Hawthorn, WI.  Military honors accorded by the Richard I. Bong American Legion Post #435.
