Joseph T.
Pearson
November 8, 1963 – March 31, 2020
Joseph T. Pearson, 56, of Superior died Tuesday March 31, 2020 at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis.
He was born in Duluth on Nov. 8, 1963 the son of Carol (Hanson) and Terrance Pearson. Joseph had worked as a union laborer for many years.
He attended UMD and studied Art. He was a talented writer who kept his friends and family entertained with his self-published works. He loved sports, writing, and reading. Most important to him was spending time with his family. He worked very hard to always bring people together.
Big Joe was an irreplaceable glue in the Pearson family. His love for God and other people had him striving always for continuous improvement. If anyone needed help, he was the first to step forward and offer it. He had over fifty nieces and nephews and managed to make everyone feel appreciated. He never forgot a birthday, and his pockets were always filled with treats and balloons. It's almost impossible to picture him without a baby in his arms. His loving respect for God, humble service to others, and welcoming celebration of all people is the legacy that he passed on to all of 'his' children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Owen Herman.
Joseph is survived by his brothers and sisters, Mark (Patricia) Pearson of Poplar, Mary Pearson, of Superior, John Pearson of Superior, Jeffery Pearson of Superior, Therese (Dan) Jerrard of Burnsville, MN, Paul (Jamie) Pearson of Hermantown, Catherine (Chris) Glancy of Minnetonka, Angel Pearson of Minneapolis, James Pearson of Superior, Peggy (Kevin) Anderson of Duluth, Bernadette (Jon) Simonson of Foxboro, Frank (Erika) Pearson of Oulu, Bridgette (Chris) Rue of Texas, Jacinta (Jeff) Herman of Superior, and Michael (Adrienne) Pearson of Duluth. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend, Frank Giacomoni, and his many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Thursday, June 25th from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of Christ the King Church with Rev. Fr. Andrew Ricci as celebrant. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
At the end of his life, he expressed being grateful to God and wanting us to have continuous growth in ourselves. His guidance, love and generosity will go on unmatched.
