Josephine “Jo” D. Hawley, 97, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Twin Ports Health Services in Superior, WI.

Josephine was born January 28, 1929, to Mary (Janoski) and Francis Cieslicki in Superior, WI.

She graduated from Superior East High School in 1948. Jo married Arlington Hawley on February28, 1949 in Superior.

She was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Polish National Alliance, and former member of the Peoney Garden Club. Jo’s hobbies included gardening, bird watching and picking wild mushroom, she loved to spend time in the outdoors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arlington; her son, Dana Hawley; her sisters, Frances Hutchinson, Rose, Ellison, and Helen Cummings; her brothers, Bernard, Joseph, and John Cielicki.

Jo is survived by her children, Gary (Susan) Hawley, Laurie Hawley, Tamie Rogers, and Debbie Hawley; her six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. funeral service at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 4315 E. 3rd St., Superior, WI, with Fr. Andrew Ricci officiating. Inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Superior, WI.
