Joy Elizabeth "Betty" Cragin, 81, a lifelong resident of Superior, Wis. died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in St. Luke's Hospice, Duluth, Minn.

Betty was born in Superior January 14, 1929, the daughter of Theresa (Albrecht) and Roy Harmon.

She married Clarence Cragin on July 22, 1967.

Betty worked as a nurse's aide at St. Mary's Hospital in Superior until M.S. forced her to retire. She enjoyed going fishing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a step-son, Lloyd; and brothers and sisters, Irving, Donald, Clark, Marge, Alice and Theresa.

Betty is survived by her sister, Romell Nordeen of New Jersey; step-daughter-in-law, Joann (Dexter) Larson of Hermantown, Minn.; grandchildren, Cheryl (Rick) Borndal of Hermantown, Tim (Sue) Cragin of Superior and Kelli (Shawn) Veech of Alaska; eight great-grandchildren; five nieces and nephews; and special friends, Margie Thompson, Carol Nordness, Arla Conner and Gert Kolanczyk all of Superior.

Her funeral service will be on Thursday, May 27 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Lutheran Church. Rev. David Schoessow will officiate. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Ave. & 19th St. is assisting Joy's family with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Christ Lutheran Church.
