Joy L. Oaks, 78, of Superior, died peacefully on Friday October 7, 2011 at Diamond Willow Assisted Living.
Joy was born in Sarona, Wis., on Aug. 30, 1933 the daughter of Otto and Ardene Baumgartner.
She had been an office manager at American Grain Trimmers in Duluth for many years.
Joy loved her cars, horses and computers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Norbert "Tom" on Sept. 2, 2003; and a baby brother who was born before her.
Joy is survived by her sons, Roy and Terry Oaks and daughter-in-law, Tammy all of Superior; a daughter, Maria (Bobby) Krynicki of Duluth; grandchildren, Shannon (Ryan) Wohlman, Christine Rogers, Lacey and Kyle Gerding; three great-grandchildren with one on the way, ElsieJoy Wohlman; and her cat, Prince.
A visitation will be held on Friday Oct. 14, from 1:00 p.m. until the 1:30 p.m. memorial service at Downs Funeral Home, corner of 19th St. and Ogden Ave. Rev. Carolyn Mowchan will officiate. Inurnment will be in Shell Lake Cemetery.
