Joyce M. Fransen, 90, of Superior, died Monday, October 22, 2018, at her residence.

She was born January 25, 1928, in Superior, daughter of Joseph and Irene (Olson) Tomczak.

Joyce worked many years at The Shack and before that at Olson's Fruit Market.

Some of her interests included dancing, walking, playing cards and always reaching out to visit or help those in need.  She was a caregiver for all.

Most important to Joyce was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Donald C. Fransen; brother, Jim; and sister, Genevieve.

Joyce is survived by her sons, Dennis (Patricia) Fransen, Laytonsville, MD, and Mark (Val) Fransen, Brainerd, MN; daughters, Nancy (Mike) Johnson, Superior, and Cynthia (Jeff) MacDonald, Atherton, Queensland, Australia; 9 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Roger (Suzie) Tomczak, Westminster, CA; sister-in-law, Mary Tomczak, Superior; and nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 2 until the 3 p.m. service, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Downs Funeral Home, 1617 N. 19 ^th Street, Superior.

Pallbearers will be Joyce's grandchildren.
